A Dream I Dreamt

It took place in 1985, in my small hometown,
when our children were 7yrs. of age, while visiting with Christian friends.
The children were playing outside,
where my husband, myself, and the daughter of our friends were conversing.
Suddenly, the sky became unusually dark!
With no reason for any alarm, presuming that a thunder storm was coming,
I said to the young woman with us, “It looks like a storm is heading our way.”
“Maybe we should get inside.”
With that statement, I looked up, to see in which direction this storm was coming.
To my overwhelming and shocking surprise, the sky above our heads was on fire!
Literally!
The great frightening, deafening,
rumbling noises that I both saw and heard, were beyond words or description.
The worst of thunderstorms, pales in the face of what we experienced.
Words cannot express these frightful sights in the heavens.
The heavens, being on fire, burning up like a scroll.
The elements above were also on fire and falling to the earth.
The great rumblings were of the elements above, in our atmosphere.
As I observed this, I heard scripture, out loud.
 I had not remembered ever reading them before,
yet I knew it was God’s word being spoken to me.
This is the content of what I heard, as I stood looking up,
frozen in bewilderment, awe and great fear.
2 Peter 11-15a

“Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved,
what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness?
Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God,
because of which the heavens will be dissolved being on fire,
and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to His promise,
look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
There beloved looking forward to these things be diligent to be found by Him in peace,
without spot and blameless; and account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation...”

Then we ran inside for cover!
These friends were faithful believers in Christ.
They held weekly bible studies, prayer & worship times in their home.
When we entered, I knew we were safe inside,
from the fierce storm-taking place outside and from what was coming on the earth.
The very presence of God covered us with His great peace and safety.

Hail soon began falling from the sky.
The frightful sights all around us.
Hail became larger and more abundant.
No one outside of Christ could escape it.
I saw people with great fear,
for what was coming on the face of the earth!
They had no hiding place to take shelter.
The only shelter was in the Lord.
Some people started coming into Christ as they sought cover with the believers.
I remember one of these persons,
being a lady who owned a clothing store in that same town where our mom shopped.
The two had become friends.

Somehow I knew in this dream that she was Jewish,
even though I had no such knowledge growing up.
 Later, much later, I found out that she was indeed Jewish.
I suddenly became aware that the Jews would
come in at this time and so,
the remnant all around the world.
As the storms around us increased,
so did the frightful sights of the judgments of God, as they began falling on the earth.
I saw far in the heavens, large pillars of smoke, sent by God, from Heaven.

opened in different places all over the earth
and these larger than anyone could imagine pillars of thick smoke
 were sent to judge the evil works of men on the earth.
The Smoke had substance, not like smoke here on the earth.

Every work on the earth was under the scrutiny
of God's Judgement.
One place in particular
I remember was a large ‘car dealership’
 that received the judgments of God.
When the one pillar of smoke fell on this large business/enterprise,
it burned to the ground.
Nothing was left of it.
 No sign of it ever existing.
 Only the smell of smoke from a burning fire that devoured everything.

Somehow, I knew that this business had robbed its employers.
God saw from heaven...
These pillars of smoke went everywhere throughout the earth
to judge the works of men.
Then I awoke from my sleep in fear
and awe of what is coming upon the face of the earth.
This dream was so real that I immediately jumped out of bed
 to look up in the sky to see if the heavens were on fire...
This stayed with me quite a while
and each time we had thunderstorms I would look up to see if it were so.
Immediately after I awoke,
I looked in my bible to see if any hint of this were true.
I came upon 2 Peter 3: 10-15
Verse 10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night,
in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise,
and the elements will melt with fervent heat;
 both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Then I opened it again and it fell on Joel 2: 30-32
And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth;
Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood,
before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord.

And it shall come to pass
that whoever call on the Name of the Lord Shall be saved.
For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there shall be deliverance
As the Lord has said, among the remnant whom the Lord calls.

Lord, be it according to Your word,
 as you have spoken it,
and may souls be added to your Kingdom.
